Pepe and Bonk: two different meanings of control
After this page you should be able to name the control that each chain’s scan is actually looking at.
Why they are not interchangeable
Pepe is an Ethereum contract. The scan talks about an owner, a mint function, a tax, a blacklist and a pause. Bonk is a Solana mint. The scan talks about mint authority, freeze authority, a transfer hook and metadata. A sentence that says both are ‘renounced’ is only half-legible.
Pepe’s CLEAR coexists with a controls warning. Bonk’s CLEAR coexists with mutable metadata. The shared word is the verdict. The difference is the warning. That is the comparison. It is not a ranking of which token is safer.
| Pepe | Bonk | |
|---|---|---|
| Chain | Ethereum | Solana |
| Identifier | 0x6982…1933 | DezXAZ…B263 |
| Supply switch the scan reads | Mintable: no | Mint authority: none |
| Other switch | Controls warned: blacklist, pausable | Freeze authority: none |
| What CLEAR did not erase | The controls warning | Mutable metadata |
| What holding confers, in this pack | The token | The token |
