An airdrop story is not a holder census

After reading this, you should be able to state what the December 2022 account claims, and what the scan is actually counting.

Two kinds of sentence

‘Bonk was airdropped to Solana users in December 2022’ is a project narrative, repeated in contemporary coverage and consistent with a pool timestamp of 25 December 2022 in this file. It is not, on this page, a measured share of supply. A measured share would name the snapshot, the accounts, the amount and the block.

‘Creator holds 0.0%’ is a scan field about one address at one time. It does not say the airdrop happened, and it does not say the airdrop failed. It says that particular balance was empty when the scanner looked. The rest of the holder distribution is the top-10 percentage, which is concentration, not identity.

Why the distinction matters

Community language answers a belonging question. The mint account answers a control question. Bonk is useful in this library because both are present and neither substitutes for the other. A revoked mint authority tells you new units are not being issued by that authority. It does not tell you the original recipients still hold, or that they were widely spread to begin with.
