Reading research and uncertainty

After this page you should be able to notice when a sentence is a measurement, an interpretation, or a gap.

The types a sentence can be

A documented fact is something a named source states, with a date. A measured observation is a number with a unit and a time, like the file’s market cap at its generated_at. An interpretation is this desk saying why a measurement matters. An allegation is someone else’s accusation. A forecast is a guess about the future. This site publishes the first two, a little of the third, and none of the last two.

The research pages end with ‘what this page does not establish’. That list is part of the article. Deleting it would make the page sound more certain than the evidence is.

What a correlation is not

Survey work on memecoin ownership describes associations with trading, leverage and other crypto holdings. Those are associations inside a sample. They do not say why a particular person bought a particular token, and they do not say who profited. The lead essay keeps that limit. A token page must not ‘apply’ the survey as if it were a biography of holders.

Check

Is a survey association a reason a particular holder bought a particular token?

No. It is an association in a sample, not a biography and not a profit.
