Dogecoin supply in this file: one number wearing two labels

After reading this, you should be able to explain why market cap and fully diluted value match, and what that does not say about supply.

Published 2026-10-12. Substantive review 2026-10-12. Figures are the observation time.

Two labels, one print

Market-data vendors keep circulating supply, total supply and maximum supply apart. Fully diluted value is a way of pricing a maximum or a total, not a second measurement of the pool. On the native Dogecoin row in this file, market cap and fully diluted value are effectively the same number. The source is treating the supply it used for both figures as one quantity.

That is not evidence of a hard cap. Dogecoin’s issuance is ongoing. A file that has no separate maximum will print a fully diluted value that cannot show dilution still to come. The panel is honest about what it was given. It is not a supply schedule.

What a holder does not own

Holding DOGE on its own chain confers the coin itself. It does not, by that fact, confer a claim on a company, a fee switch, or a vote that this file can point to. There is no contract-permission scan on the primary row because there is no contract in the row.

The peg on BNB Chain is an IOU-style representation maintained by the venue that issued it. Its supply is the supply of that contract, not the supply of Dogecoin. Mixing the two market caps double-counts attention and mis-states both assets.
