Pepe: the contract, not the cartoon
After reading this, you should be able to identify this contract, separate it from the character, and see which questions the scan actually answered.

Which Pepe
This franchise is the Ethereum token whose CoinGecko id is pepe and whose address is 0x6982508145454ce325ddbe47a25d4ec3d2311933. The file dates a Uniswap v2 pool for it to 14 April 2023. That timestamp is the pool’s, as carried in the source. It is the best launch marker this evidence pack has.
The name comes from Pepe the Frog, a cartoon by Matt Furie. Public reporting in 2023 said Furie was not behind the token. This page has not interviewed him and does not treat the character as a disclosure about the contract. The symbol PEPE is reused. The collision list is the other rows.
What the scan is
A stored scan on this contract has returned CLEAR, with a note that a pass is not a recommendation. The hard checks that passed include a simulated sell, a zero buy and sell tax on that simulation, a renounced owner, no mint, and verified source. Separate checks warned. Those warnings are the subject of the control note. They are not footnoted out of existence by the word CLEAR.
Holding the token confers the token. The scan does not show a fee switch, a dividend, or a product the holder is entitled to. Popularity of the image is not one of the checks.
What this page does not establish
- No deployer identity is in the evidence pack.
- No original interview, and no review of later ecosystem announcements.
- Holder addresses are not mapped to people.
REVIEW WHEN
- Owner is no longer the zero address.
- The controls warning disappears or becomes a fail.
- The contract address on the pepe id changes.
